“I sing the body electric. The armies of those I love engirth me, and I engirth them.” – Walt Whitman
Above the peerless workspace of the kitchen, the words of Walt Whitman shine boldly in custom-made neon, announcing to all who gather here that this is a space for joy. Elevating the idea beyond a simple great room, the main level commingles living and dining with such seamless flair the result is a space that is both visually stunning and eminently inviting.

Foucault Pendulum
The Foucault Pendulum is named for the French physicist Jean Foucault who first used it at the 1851 World’s Fair in Paris to demonstrate the rotation of the earth. The pendulum consists of a long cable and a heavy, metal “bob” at the end. Over the course of a day, the bob will appear to change the direction of its swing, eventually describing a complete circle on the ground. However, this is an illusion. The pendulum continues swinging only back and forth. It is the Earth that is turning underneath the pendulum (although this only happens perfectly at the Earth’s Poles). The Bluewater Pendulum was created by Academy Pendulums, the same company that created the famous Foucault’s Pendulum that was first hung in the Smithsonian Museum in 1964. To date, the Bluewater Pendulum is the only pendulum the company has created for a private residence.
